Monoclonal antibodies are identical antibodies from fused lymphocyte–tumour hybridoma cells, used in tests and targeted treatment.

Grade 2–3: They join a useful immune cell with a fast-growing cell so they can farm matching antibodies.
Grade 5–6: I can say hybridoma = lymphocyte + tumour cell.
Grade 9: I write the sequence in order and I never say the tumour cell makes the antibody on its own.

Common mistakes
- Antibodies are not white cells and not antibiotics. Mixing those three words scores 0.
- Hybridoma is not "a virus + a bacterium" and not two antibodies stuck together. Lymphocyte + tumour cell.
- The test does not "contain a baby" or "contain oestrogen only". The named hormone is hCG.
- Monoclonal antibodies are not vaccines and not antibiotics. They do not "kill viruses inside every cell" as a general story.
