GCSE English revision — Language and Literature
English is two GCSEs. Language is reading and writing (untiered). Literature is closed-book set texts and poetry (also untiered). ReviseEasy keeps them separate so you do not mix AO5 writing with AO1 quotations.
English Language
Paper 1 is fiction reading and creative writing. Paper 2 is viewpoints and transactional writing. SPaG (AO6) is a large chunk of writing marks — drill it, do not hope.
English Literature
Closed-book. Learn short exact quotations. Paper 1 is usually Shakespeare and a 19th-century novel (extract to whole). Paper 2 is a modern text, anthology poetry and unseen poetry. Pick the texts your class is actually studying.
