Common mistakes
- No text-speak. You can still be human (“I am not asking for a medal”). Robotic “I am writing to inform you that I am writing” wastes the opening.
- Do not write “In this article I will discuss” — that is a school essay, not an article.
- Decorating the margins with boxes and stars does not raise AO5. Organisation is paragraphs and cohesion, not clip-art.
